“La Liga title my best moment” – Zidane

Zinedine Zidane has described winning last season’s La Liga title with Real Madrid as his ‘best moment’ in charge of the club.

The Frenchman stunned the football world on Thursday as he confirmed he was stepping down as Coach, less than a week after winning his third straight Champions League title.

“Winning La Liga last season was the best moment,” Zidane told the assembled reporters.

“The worst? The Copa exit against Leganes earlier this season was painful.

“Would I have stayed had we lost the Champions League final? I’m not sure, maybe, that could have made a difference.

“No player has anything to do with this decision, they will respect the situation as they have done throughout my time as Coach.

“After three seasons, it is difficult to keep coaching and motivating, and that is where I found myself.”
