Jemez asks Las Palmas to wait

Paco Jemez is willing to fill the coaching vacancy at Las Palmas but has asked the club to wait until after Christmas.

Jemez recently left Mexican side Cruz Azul to return to Spain, having been apart from his family for 12 months, and while he does want to return to work, he’s only interested in doing so after the festive period.

“When the holidays are over I will be willing to go back to coaching. I’ve already turned down one offer from Spain because I want to spend at least a month with my family,” Jemez told Cope, according to Fichajes.net.

“I told [Las Palmas President] Miguel Angel Ramirez that if he could wait for me after Christmas I would go to Las Palmas, but whatever decision he makes, I’ll understand.”

Paquito Ortiz is in charge of the islanders after the sacking of Pako Ayestaran, with Fichajes noting conflicting reports on whether or not the club are willing to wait for Jemez, or will find another alternative.
