Spain confirm final qualifying squad

Valencia forward Rodrigo Moreno, Napoli’s Jose Callejon and Real Sociedad midfielder Asier Illarramendi have been restored to Spain’s national squad.

La Roja finalise their World Cup qualification campaign against Albania and Israel in October with Julen Lopetegui once again rejigging his squad following September’s victories over Italy and Liechtenstein.

David Villa – the nation’s all-time international record goalscorer who had been restored to the national squad for the first time in over three years – is one of five players not involved.

Vitolo, on loan at Las Palmas from Sevilla, is also not included, while Barcelona’s Gerard Deulofeu, Lucas Vazquez of Real Madrid and Milan’s Suso are also excluded from the list.

Callejon has netted 51 goals and provided 30 assists since joining Napoli from Madrid in 2013 while Rodrigo has scored three La Liga goals already this season.

Lopetegui’s side require only four points from their final two games to secure first position in Group G ahead of Italy and automatic qualification to next year’s World Cup.

Spain squad: Kepa, De Gea, Reina, Alba, Azpilicueta, Bartra, Carvajal, Nacho, Monreal, Pique, Ramos, Isco, Thiago, Busquets, Illarramendi, Silva, Iniesta, Saul, Koke, Asensio, Aspas, Callejon, Morata, Rodrigo, Pedro
