Victor calls for Depor calm

Victor Sanchez has called on Deportivo La Coruna to “remain calm and keep working” after their winless 2016 continued at home to Granada on Sunday.

Youssef El-Arabi’s lone penalty midway through the first half at Riazor gave Jose Gonzalez a debut win in the Granada dugout as they moved off the bottom of La Liga, but the result consigned Victor’s men to a 10th League game without victory.

“Of course we’re not in our best spell of the season, but we must remain calm and keep working,” the Coach said after the game.

“It’s clear that things aren’t going our way at the moment.

“We already knew that the second half [of the season] would be more complicated because our rivals need the points more, and it’s showed.

“We weren’t so excited in the first round, when the results were good, so we must keep our feet on the ground as we did then.

“We didn’t play with continuity, and when you’re losing, you expose yourself and give your opponents a chance to counter.”
