Jozabed: Sevilla will be special

Rayo Vallecano’s Jozabed Sanchez is looking forward to a reunion with old club Sevilla. ‘It will be special…’

Jozabed left Sevilla’s youth set-up in 2013 and eventually made his way to Vallecas, where he has caught the eye this season with goals and strong performances.

“The game will be special for my past but at home and with our people we will have to continue the dynamic we’re on,” he told Rayo’s official website, Marca reports.

“We have to have a lot of intensity and not let Sevilla get comfortable at any point during the game.

“We have positive momentum in that streak of not losing and adding points away from home is important. Even though we didn’t win against Sporting Gijon the result gives us courage for the home game with Sevilla, which will be difficult.”

Jozabed scored for the ninth time this season in the 2-2 draw at El Molinon but admitted he wasn’t completely satisfied with the game despite finding the net.

“Personally I’m happy, though it is bittersweet. We made a lot of mistakes in the first half, gave them life, but we were serious in the second, playing good football and creating chances,” he recalled.
