Real Madrid supporters are planning a march through the Spanish capital next week in support of Jose Mourinho, but he is reportedly reluctant.
On the initiative of two club supporters, a campaign has begun to draw as many fans as possible to a pro-Mourinho march through Madrid on April 6, to demonstrate their support for the Portuguese Coach.
Mourinho has been the subject of strong, continued speculation this season that he is on his way out of the club in the summer.
AS report today that whilst the 50-year-old is appreciative of the gesture, he is keen that focus is not diverted away from preparations for what would then be the second leg of the team’s Champions League quarter-final with Galatasaray, due to be played three days later.
In light of this stance, Madrid have also reportedly moved to express their desire that the fans’ march not be held.
Currently, 4,500 fans have signed an online petition in support of the meeting on April 6.
