Juanlu hopes for big name

Juanlu Gomez has admitted to dreaming of Levante’s future opponents in the Europa League, but says focus is first firmly on their final group stage match.

Los Granotes are already assured of progression to the Round of 32, but welcome Hannover to the Ciutat de Valencia on Thursday aware that a win would see them finish first in the group.

That could help them avoid some of the tougher seeds in the knockout phase’s draw, even if a big name is what Juanlu is angling for.

“The only thing that is going through our heads is to get the victory, which will then secure our position in the table and then we look forward from there,” the midfielder tried to impress first off to reporters.

“There are always opponents that one might like to face and today there are many strong teams we could face.

“I had hoped for Manchester City, because of the importance of the team and their players, but they did not make it through.

“It would be nice to deal with Zenit St Petersburg or Ajax, but everything is focused on qualifying from our group first, and then we can start to dream again.”
