Osasuna boss Jose Luis Mendilibar felt a draw was the right result after his side’s meeting with Real Sociedad ended goalless.
The Pamplona outfit stopped on form La Real in their tracks at Anoeta last night.
“It was a tough game and I think we were very solid defensively and serious,” Mendilibar told reporters.
“Perhaps we missed something up front, but overall I’m satisfied with the work of my players.”
Osasuna had less than 40 per cent possession but were saluted by opposing Coach Philippe Montanier for their defensive fortitude.
“The draw may seem small, and they had more possession, but we had some controversial action in their area. We continue to make good progress.”
The point takes Mendilibar’s side above Deportivo La Coruna but they remain in the relegation zone.
