Real Sociedad boss Philippe Montanier labelled his team’s performance in the 2-2 draw with Real Sociedad on Monday, as ‘brilliant’.
A brace from Antoine Griezmann twice gave La Real the lead but, despite having to settle for their first point of the campaign on the road, Montanier was more than satisfied with his players.
“This was our best display of the season away from home. We were positive and we needed it to break our recent bad run,” the Frenchman told assembled reporters.
“I thought we played a brilliant game and created many chances. The draw is fine, although we are a bit disappointed because we had some great opportunities towards the end.
“Valladolid are a tough team to play against and I wasn’t entirely happy with the attitude of my players in the first half.
“However, we improved after the break and were more aggressive, so we are delighted with the result,” he added.
