Aspas & De Lucas down Sevilla

Celta Vigo chalked up their third home win on the spin, but Sevilla were again the victims of a controversial decision.

The Andalusians failed with two appeals to have Gary Medel's ban repealed so the Chilean joined Coach Michel in the stands at Balaidos.

Kamikaze Celta almost gifted Sevilla a goal with just a minute and half on the clock, former Rojiblancos 'keeper Javi Varas rushing out to clear as Jesus Navas closed in on a under-hit backpass.

The hosts settled nicely after that early scare, Varas' former rival Andres Palop having to save well from Iago Aspas and Park Chu-Young efforts.

Celta took control just short of the hour mark, when an Aspas free kick struck Hedwiges Maduro's arm. Though it was not at all clear that the Dutchman's action was intentional, a penalty was awarded, and Aspas himself did the honours, slotting the kick down the middle.

The goalscorer was substituted in the 83rd minute, and his replacement scored the second and decisive goal just two minutes later!

Quique de Lucas netted a header upon finding himself unmarked in the box.
