We built on Madrid win says Negredo

Alvaro Negredo said Sevilla’s 2-0 win over Deportivo de La Coruna at Riazor was built on last week’s victory over Real Madrid.

The Spanish champions succumbed to an early Piotr Trochowski goal at the Sanchez Pizjuan and Negredo feels it was that result that laid the foundations for success over Jose Luis Oltra’s men on Monday night.

“The win over Depor made good the three points we took off Real Madrid,” the Spanish international told La Sexta, before going on to say he is convinced that if he carries on his good form then he will soon return to the fold with Vicente del Bosque’s national team.

“Of course I want to get back into the squad and it’s important to be on that list, so I will try to convince the Coach, but this was a big game for all of us tonight and we must continue to work along these lines.”

Sevilla face Barcelona at home next weekend and the former Real Madrid man accepts his team faces a tall order to secure a third successive win.

“Next up is Barca but we need to take things step by step. We will need some additional effort to get a third victory, although it will be very difficult having games against Madrid and Barcelona with Depor in the middle.

However, we’ll be trying,” added Negredo.
