Barcelona will be without Lamine Yamal as they take on Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday night, who will miss the trip through suspension. The Blaugrana are required to win their final two games to have a realistic shot at a top eight place, and seeding through to the Round of the 16.

They will be forced to do so in arctic temperatures, with the weather prediction at -5 Celsius for Eden Park, this evening. Barcelona are also without Ferran Torres, who has a hamstring issue, and remains in Barcelona, with Gavi, Andreas Christensen, Lamine Yamal, and Joao Cancelo, who is not registered for the Champions League. Marc-Andre ter Stegen has left the club to join Girona on loan for the rest of the season.

Flick’s opposite number Jindrich Tspisovsky is without Dominik Javorcek, Petr Sevcik and Ondrej Zmrzly, who are not registered for the competition yet, but otherwise, has his full squad available. Slavia are currently in 33rd out of 36, and are required a win to stand any chance of making it to the play-off round, with just three points so far.

Barcelona to send out strongest XI to face Slavia Prague

MD believe that Hansi Flick will send out what he appears to feel is his strongest available XI, which includes Pau Cubarsi and Eric Garcia in central defence. Marcus Rashford, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, who is back from injury, are tipped to start up front, with Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo and Torres dropping out. Those are the three changes from their weekend line-up that lost to Real Sociedad 2-1.

Could Roony Bardghji get a start?

Ahead of the match, Flick said he was not concerned by Barcelona’s performance in their defeat to La Real, and was also full of praise for Roony Bardghji. He could be the alternative to Lamine Yamal, and Sport believe that the Swedish youngster will start, with Rashford remaining on the bench, their only dispute with MD.

Slavia are poised to make just two changes from their 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in their last Champions League clash, with Youssoupha Mbodji to come back into defence in place of Ogbu Igoh. The other change could be up front, where Tomas Chory may start ahead of Mojmir Chytil. Mbodji has both of Slavia’s goals in their opening six games, both against Bodo/Glimt.
