Puma prepare monster new sponsorship offer as Barcelona battle Nike

The battle to win the right to sponsor Barcelona’s kit goes on, and there is talk of a major new offer from Puma.

Nike currently have the rights, but are locked deep in discussions with the club to try and agree a continued deal.

But Barcelona’s financial woes make them open to any major offers, and Puma are looking to take advantage.

Sport are reporting that Puma have long tried to secure this particular crown jewel brand, and see their chance. Barcelona want out of their Nike deal, which lasts until 2026, and there’s great tension on both sides.

Puma’s priority is to avoid a bidding war with Nike, but they’ve made their offer clear – a €100m signing fee, with something between €120m and €140m annually. A major increase on the €85m to €105m they currently get, according to the Athletic.

This would be a big boost financially for Barcelona – the problem is that their deal with Nike is not going to be easy to get out of.
