Barcelona beat Real Madrid to another teenage talent under their noses

Barcelona have stolen a march on Real Madrid for a second time regarding a talent in the capital city. Their latest recruit is a 14-year-old who left Los Blancos earlier on, and will now join Barcelona in the summer.

After the Blaugrana beat Real Madrid to Marcos Parriego, Relevo report that talented left-footed winger Byron Mendoza will head to Catalonia this summer. They say he has plenty of quality, is good at linking up with teammates, and scores plenty of goals.

At Real Madrid as a kid, Mendoza was courted by Real Madrid too, as was the case with Parriego, but failed to persuade him to make the move. Mendoza lives alone with his grandfather in Fuenlabrada, and currently plays with Leganes. He wanted to move to academy housing at Valdebebas, but Real Madrid were reluctant, and Barcelona swooped in promising to meet their demands.

The Blaugrana have relied on the work of former player Jon Andoni Goikoetxea in order to recruit both Mendoza and Parriego, as they step up their efforts to sign young talents.
