Zlatan Ibrahimovic: I am returning to Spain

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has sparked mass speculation that he will return to Spanish football in a social media update.

The Swedish international, who is a free agent after leaving MLS side LA Galaxy, directly addressed Spain before saying that he would be returning to the country.

The striker previously played for Barcelona in the 2009-10 campaign and hit 22 goals across 46 appearances for the club.

“Hello Spain. Guess what? I’m coming back,” Ibrahimovic said in an Instagram update.

Now aged 38, the Swede his a devastating 31 goals across 31 appearances in MLS for Galaxy last season and is now primed for a return to European football.

Ibrahimovic has played for a number of leading European clubs beforehand, representing Malmo, Ajax, Inter, Juventus, Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, alongside his stint at the Camp Nou.

The striker netted 28 goals in his last full season in Europe when he played under Jose Mourinho at United.
