Ernesto Valverde praises Barcelona game management against Slavia Prague

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde hailed the game management of his players following their 2-1 Champions League win at Slavia Prague.

The La Liga giants found it difficult against the Czech side, with a goal from Lionel Messi and an own goal securing an important European win for the Catalan side.

Despite being far from their best, Valverde praised his side for showing the real resilience to get past a difficult test in Prague.

"It is important to know how to win these games, in hard conditions.

"We have not shown our best form outside of Barcelona so far this season, and that has been difficult.

"We had chances to score more goals here, and so did Prague in the sscond half, but in the end we had enough to win the game.

"I expected this king of game here, it was tight for the whole game, but the team showed what they are capable of.

"After the break we managed Slavia Prague, and the game as well, and the team deserves credit for that."

Barcelona now have the weekend off from La Liga action, following the postponement of the El Clasico at the Camp Nou, with a trip to Levante and then their home game against Slavia Prague.
