POST-MATCH: Barcelona go top of La Liga with Eibar victory

Barcelona returned to the top of La Liga with a straightforward 3-0 win away at Eibar.

Ernesto Valverde's side edged ahead of both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, who could go back above them with wins against Valencia and Real Mallorca respectively.

Valverde brought Antoine Griezmann back into the starting line up, in place of the suspended Ousmane Dembele, and the Frenchman turned in fantastic display alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

Griezmann opened the scoring for the visitors on 17 minutes, racing onto Clement Lenglet's long ball, to confidently fire past Marko Dmitrovic at the near post.

Eibar did have chances to get themselves back into the game before half time, with Marc Ter Stegen saving from Charles de Oliveira and Sergi Enrich.

However it was one way traffic for the defending champions after the break, as the MSG trio linked up to increase their lead just before the hour mark.

Suarez showed strength and invention to keep a loos ball alive inside the box, and find Griezmann.

The former Atletico Madrid man kept his composure to flick a reverse ball into Messi's path, and the La Blaugrana was nerveless in slotting past Dmitrovic.

Valverde's side made the win safe on 67 minutes, as Suarez got in on the act, following excellent build up from Griezmann and Messi.

Griezmann split the Eibar defence with a through ball on the half way, to put Messi in the clear, and the Argentinian drew Dmitrovic, before squaring for Suarez to tap home from eight yards.
