Atletico Madrid’s Vitolo ruled out of Lokomotiv Moscow clash

Atletico Madrid will be without midfielder Vitolo for their midweek Champions League tie with Lokomotiv Moscow.

The La Liga side head to the Russian capital as part of Gameweek 2 in this season's Champions League, with Diego Simeone's side looking to build on their 2-2 draw at home to Juventus.

Vitolo suffered a calf strain in the 0-0 Madrid derby draw with Real Madrid, and Simeone confirmed after the game that he would not be making the trip to Russia with the squad.

Angel Correa replaced Vitolo in the Wanda Metropolitano clash and could start in his place against Yuri Semin's side, with Simeone reporting no new injury concerns.

Alvaro Morata missed the clash with his former club due to a domestic suspension, but he will return for this game, but defender Sime Vrsaljko is still sidelined through injury.
