FC Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets praised his teammates following a hard fought 2-1 win at home to Villarreal CF.
First half goals from Antoine Griezmann and Arthur Melo secured the win for Ernesto Valverde's side, as they looked to bounce back from the weekend loss away at Granada CF.
The defending La Liga champions struggled against the newly promoted side, and Spanish international Busquets hailed the resilience of the side after a tough few days at the club.
"We did not play well against Granada CF, and we needed to win tonight, as we are dropping too many points.
"We need to increase our levels of performance in the league, or it will be a very long season."
Busquets also commented on the injury to returning club captain Lionel Messi, stating that he was confident that the Argentina international did not suffer a major injury in the first half against Javi Calleja's side.
FC Barcelona face a tough run of games in the coming weeks, with a trip to Getafe this weekend, followed by a Champions League clash with Inter Milan and La Liga games against Sevilla and Eibar.
