Norwich City beat Aston Villa to Sevilla midfielder Ibrahim Amadou

Sevilla midfielder Ibrahim Amadou has travelled to England to complete his loan move to Norwich City, it is widely reported.

ABC de Sevilla are among a number of outlets to outline the details, claiming that the player travelled to England on Tuesday to undergo a medical.

The 26-year-old joined Los Rojiblancos in the summer from Lille – a team who captained – last summer but he started just seven La Liga games last season despite not sustaining any major injuries.

The form of Mudo Vazquez, Pablo Sarabia and Ever Banega has prevented Amadou from breaking into the first-team, alongside a number of niggling muscular injuries.

However, the Andalusian club have now signed 11 new players this summer including a raft of central midfielders such as Fernando, Joan Jordan and Oliver Torres.

Yahoo Sport in France initially reported that the Canaries – who won the English Championship last season – have made a loan offer with an option to buy included in the deal.

It is now claimed that the initial loan fee will be €1.5m with a €10.5m option to sign permanently, while Aston Villa have missed out on the player.

The decision is now in the hands of the player although the proposition to join a top-flight English club where he is likely to play more regularly in the first-team was always likely to be attractive.
