Inter favourites for Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic

Ivan Rakitic is resigned to the possibility of leaving Barcelona this summer with Inter the most interested club, say Diario Sport.

The Croatian international’s current deal at the Camp Nou runs through until the summer of 2021 although Barca brought midfielders Arturo Vidal and Arthur Melo last summer and have signed Frenkie De Jong from Ajax this year.

The midfielder has continually been linked with a move away from the Blaugrana with the fresh report claiming that new Inter boss Antonio Conte has requested the signing of the midfielder.

However, in recent quotes cited by Marca, Rakitic has expressed his desire to stay at the Camp Nou: “It's a situation (rumours) that I'm used to since I'm here, last year the same thing happened to me.

“I talked to the club and the Coach and the idea is the same, and my idea is to continue with Barça, I'm open, but my idea is very clear and my intention is to continue here and continue enjoying because being here because I have more years left on my contract.

“Here you have to work and whoever performs the most is the one who plays, I will work hard so that the team can count on me, they know me and I want to give the best version of me and in the Coach makes the decision.

“It does not bother me to talk about my future, I have to understand that football in general works like that, in a way I am proud that other teams ask about me because it means that I am doing things right.”
