Sassuolo: Barcelona will sign Kevin-Prince Boateng permanently

Barcelona will spend €8m to sign Kevin-Prince Boateng permanently before loaning him out, suspect his parent club Sassuolo.

The Ghanaian forward joined the Catalan giants on a loan deal until the end of the campaign in January while the Spanish champions held the €8m clause to sign the player permanently.

Boateng featured in just four matches for the Blaugrana and played a total of 303 minutes but failed to make an impact.

“I do not think so, it will be difficult,” Sassuolo general director Giovanni Carnevali responded when asked on Boateng would return to their club, as cited by El Mundo Deportivo.

“I think Barcelona will buy him back and sell him to another Spanish team: he will probably continue in La Liga.”

The 32-year-old joined the Italian side from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer and had scored five goals in 15 appearances for the club before his January move to the Catalan capital.

Boateng spent the 2016/17 campaign in La Liga, netting 10 goals in 25 starts for Las Palmas.
