Barcelona have lost the highly-rated youth defender Mateu Morey who has put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year-old right back is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Spanish football but he was unable to agree a contract extension at the Camp Nou.
The Blaugrana website described the teenager as “equally at home further up the field, and his play is characterised by consistent and disciplined attacks.”
Morey, who was also reportedly a target for Juventus and Manchester City, missed the entire 2018-19 season after suffering a serious knee injury.
“Borussia Dortmund are a wonderful club that place a lot of emphasis on youth,” Morey told the club's website.
“I am confident that, with my individual qualities, I will have a lot to offer the club in the seasons to come with this team.
“I want to integrate myself quickly, support my team and, above all, learn the language. Doing the latter will certainly make everything easier.”
Morey arrived at the Camp Nou in 2015 after starting his youth career with Real Mallorca.
