Atletico Madrid an option for Man United’s Alexis Sanchez

Atletico Madrid have joined Juventus and Inter in the race for Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

El Mundo Deportivo cite a report in Chilean outlet Redgol which claims that sources close to the player confirm contact from Los Rojiblancos.

Alexis spent three years in La Liga with Barcelona between 2011 and 2014 before joining Arsenal, but his move to Manchester United last year has proven ill-fated.

Italian duo Inter and Juventus have both been strongly linked to the Chile international and have reportedly met with his agent Fernando Felicevich.

However, nothing would be able to move until the Chilean lowers his demands of €12m a season, according to reports.

Diego Simeone has previously managed the forward when the pair were at River Plate in Argentina in 2008 and the Argentine boss has frequently spoken of his admiration for the player.

The 30-year-old has scored just three Premier League goals in 18 months for the Red Devils who are said to be separate to shift their highest-earner this summer.
