POST MATCH: Barcelona clinch title with Levante win

Barcelona secured their eighth La Liga title in the last eleven seasons, with a 1-0 win at home to Levante on Saturday night.

Ernesto Valverde's side knew ahead of kick off that three points would secure back to back championships, although it took a second half goal from substitute Lionel Messi to confirm it.

The hosts dominated the opening stages, with Levante goal keeper Aitor Fernandez very busy, making saves from Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez either side of half time.

Messi's introduction at the break stepped the Catalan side up a gear, and he found the break through just after the hour mark – latching onto Arturo Vidal's knock down to steer home his 34th league goal of the season.

La Blaugrana now turn their attention to the Champions League, with Liverpool visiting the Nou Camp on Wednesday night, in the last four first leg.
