POST MATCH: Getafe join Real Madrid in the top four with 0-0 draw

Getafe join Real Madrid in the top four after holding Zinedine Zidane's side to a 0-0 draw at the Colosseum Alfonso Perez on Thursday night.

Jose Bordalas' side dropped out of the Champions League places following Sevilla's win at Rayo Vallecano, but their head-to-head record with the Joaquin Caparros means they have the edge, despite being level on 55 points.

In a game of few chances, Karim Benzema missed an excellent chance to break the deadlock right on half time, with David Soria making a key save from the Frenchman.

Getafe had chances of their own, after the restart Jorge Molina and Jaime Mata both testing Keylor Navas in the visitors goal, but neither were able to find a way past the Costa Rican international.

Bordalas's side thought the had a penalty in the closing stages, after Mata was pulled down by Dani Carvajal, but the referee decided against it after consulting VAR.
