West Ham are eyeing Alaves central defender Guillermo Maripan as an option for a summer transfer, say football.london.
The Chilean international has been an instrumental part of El Glorioso’s defence this season, featuring in 22 of their 29 La Liga matches to date.
The Basque side are currently fifth in the Spanish top flight with their remarkable rise to challenging for European places largely down to their strong defence.
Maripan is a compatriot of Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini while Director of Football Mario Husillos is said to have been monitoring the Spain-based defender.
The 24-year-old joined the Basque club from Universidad Catolica in Chile in 2017 with transfermarkt reporting his value at €8m.
