Zinedine Zidane eyeing David De Gea bid

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane could prioritise a summer move for Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.

Zidane failed in a bid for the Spanish international during his first spell in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu back in 2017, but the Frenchman could return with a second bid ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Club president Florentino Perez has promised a significant transfer war chest for Zidane this summer, as Los Blancos look to haul back Barcelona in La Liga next season and the 28 year-old is reported to be on their list of targets.

The former Atletico Madrid player is under contract at United until 2020, after they exercised their option to extend his previous deal by a further year and they are hopeful they can persuade him to sign another extension at the end of the current campaign.

However the interest of Real Madrid will concern the Red Devils, particularly as Zidane declined to offer his backing his current No.1 Thibaut Courtois upon his return.
