Lucas Silva ‘can envisage’ Real Madrid return

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva, currently on loan at Cruziero, believes he will play for Real Madrid again one day.

The 26-year-old is on loan at the Brazilian club until June and has not played for Los Blancos in four years, and was previously diagnosed with having a heart condition.

That was diagnosed during a medical with Sporting CP in 2016 but the former youth international has now returned to action, and has also played on loan at Marseille.

“Without a doubt I believe I have the option to return to Madrid’s squad,” Lucas Silva told an interview with Marca.

“At the start of my time there I trained well, I played in the Champions League and won many matches, having the possibility of winning titles motivates me.

“Now I’m back playing at a very high level with Cruziero and I feel at home here, I will fulfil my contract, but I dream of playing in Europe again.

“I have overcome my health issues, I had examinations, and everything is fine – it was just a scare. Now I am fit and can play at the highest level.

“At the time a lot of things went through my head and I considered retirement but now I am playing again and happy.”
