Arsenal join Tottenham in race for Barcelona’s Malcom

Arsenal have joined Tottenham in the race to sign the of out-of-favour Barcelona forward Malcom, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has struggled for playing time since his €41m arrival from Bordeaux this summer, starting just one game in La Liga and none in the Champions League.

Diario Sport reported last week that Spurs ‘were negotiating’ for the Brazilian while The Sun now claims Arsenal are also in the running for a loan deal in January.

Spurs are struggling for attacking options with Harry Kane and Dele Alli both injured until March and Heung-Min Son’s recent participation in the Asian Cup.

The Brazilian forward has been left out of several recent matchday squads by Barca boss Ernesto Valverde, fueling speculation he is on the brink of an exit.

Previous reports claim ‘several clubs in England and Italy’ are monitoring the situation, while there is also said to be reported interest in the play from China.
