Valencia ‘obsessed’ over West Ham’s Javier Hernandez

Valencia have ‘an obsession’ with West Ham United striker Javier Hernandez and remain keen on signing him this month.

Last month, Diario AS cited a report in Levante-EMV that Los Che boss Marcelino Garcia Toral had given the green light for the deal while the player himself is keen on a move to the Mestalla.

Marca say Valencia are still ‘obsessed’ with the Mexico international following a report earlier this month that they had a ‘personal agreement’ with the striker and now say they are 'willing to wait until the end of January' in order to get their man.

Mexico's all-time leading scorer is said to want regular first-team football and is keen for a move to La Liga due to lack of game time at the East London club.

Hernandez spent the 2014/15 campaign on loan at Real Madrid, where he netted seven goals in seven league starts and has played in Germany and England since.

In an interview with Marca in November, the striker ‘did not rule out’ a departure from the Hammers: “My only desire is to play as much as possible and earn a starting place.”
