Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has explained there have been ‘no conversations’ about a return for former player Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.
There have been widespread reports that the Brazilian forward wants a return to the Camp Nou, where he left in a world record €222m deal in 2017.
“We are always very respectful about players from other teams,” Valverde told reporters.
“Neymar is a great player, there is no doubt about that, he was world class when he was at this club before and now that he is at another team.
“But that is it…nobody has spoken to me about this, there are no phone calls, there is always news and rumours – but simply put, he is not our player.
“We respect Paris Saint-Germain and we respect the player.
“Philippe Coutinho? He has enjoyed a lot of great games and we hope he continues on this path, focusing on the great aspects of his game.
“This was just like Ousmane Dembele when he was not playing, we hope in the future that the two can play together in this team.”
