La Liga Week 15 round-up: Levante leave it late in eight-goal thriller

Levante left it late to draw with Eibar in an eight-goal thriller as Real Betis won again in La Liga Week 15.

Leganes extended their unbeaten run to seven games after they drew 1-1 with Getafe in Friday’s mini-Madrid derby.

Leandro Cabrera gave Geta the lead in the first half, but Lega pulled back through Allan Nyom, despite Ruben Perez’s red card in the dying stages.

The pick of the weekend’s action saw Eibar and Levante share the spoils in a spectacular 4-4 draw at Ipurua on Saturday.

Eibar would have been left kicking themselves as goals from Sergi Enrich and Gonzalo Escalante, plus a Charles brace, put the Basques 4-2 up with just 25 minutes remaining.

Yet Jose Luis Morales and Rober Pier struck to cancel out Enrich’s opener, before a Paulo Oliveira own goal and Borja Mayoral’s last-gasp finish earned the visitors a point.

Real Valladolid ended a two-month wait for a League win, beating Real Sociedad 2-1 on Sunday.

Toni Suarez and Antonito netted either side of half-time to leave Mikel Oyarzabal’s strike on the hour mark in vain as La Real fell to a second straight defeat.

Finally, Real Betis rose to seventh with a 2-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano, who have now gone three months without an away win.

The match was heading for a goalless draw until Giovani Lo Celso and Sidnei scored in the final half-hour to move Betis level with the top six.
