Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has highlighted the importance of his side topping their Champions League group despite already qualifying.
The Catalan giants have won three of their four group games and a victory away at PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night will secure they top the group.
“We know there is a big difference between first and second in the group,” Valverde told reporters ahead of Wednesday’s clash with PSV.
“At the moment, we have qualified but we do not know in what position we will finish and the only way to secure top spot is with victories.
“We cannot think about other results and it is true that there could be other circumstances but the reality is that if we win (against PSV) then we will achieve it and that’s what we want to do.
“We also know that tomorrow’s game is very important for PSV, that makes the group more interesting, but our intention is to finish first in the group.”
