Antonio Conte demands see Real Madrid move ‘break down’

The excessive demands of Antonio Conte have scuppered his chances of becoming the next Real Madrid Coach, say El Pais.

The Italian has apparently asked for five of his technical staff to join him in the Spanish capital and is demanding a lucrative contract until June 2021.

Last week it was reported that the path was clear for the former Juventus boss to join Madrid after he reached a court settlement with Chelsea, so that Madrid would not need to pay €10.8m to secure his signature.

However, negotiations are said to have stalled in recent days due to the unwillingness from Los Blancos to bring in many of Conte’s staff, including a fitness coach and goalkeeping coach.

Other reports have indicated that the former midfielder’s appointment was vetoed by Madrid’s dressing room, under the instruction of captain Sergio Ramos.
