Real Madrid have not been in touch with Antonio Conte despite media reports they have called him twice; his brother Daniele has said.
The first phone call to the out-of-work Italian was reported to have happened last Monday by the Corriere dello Sport with Diario AS saying a follow-up taking place five days later.
Monday’s conversation was said to have centred around the former Juventus and Chelsea Coach’s future prospects and whether he was interested in a swift return to management.
However, following Madrid’s defeat on Saturday – their fifth game in succession without a win – the chat was said to be more focused around Conte’s interest in taking over at their club.
“Antonio has not received any contact from Real Madrid, he is currently on holiday,” Daniele told Cadena Ser.
“They are a great club but I cannot speak for him, but there has not been a phone call.”
Current Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui is under growing pressure at the club ahead of Sunday’s El Clasico against Barcelona.
