In-form striker Cristhian Stuani is set to sign a new contract at Girona which will raise his release clause, claims a report in TV3.
The Uruguayan netted twice at the Camp Nou in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Barcelona taking his tally for the current season to five goals in five games.
The 31-year-old joined the Catalan side from Middlesbrough in 2017 and netted 21 times in 32 La Liga appearances last season.
His current deal is set to expire in June 2020 and contains a €15m release clause, but these new negotiations will add €5m to that clause alongside extending the deal by a further 12 months.
