Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is confident a new contract with the club will be agreed soon and has no doubts over his future.
The Croatian’s current deal at the Camp Nou runs through until June 2021 but reports of a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain highlighted the needs for an improved contract.
“It will arrive soon, we are not in a hurry,” Rakitic told an interview with Diario Sport.
“The club looks after its players and they know that I feel at home here, so I believe I will receive a phone call soon.
“Ernesto Valverde is very important too, he has displayed great confidence in me and he knows what I will give the team.
“I would do everything for the team, I would be willing to sustain an injury for the team if it helped, and there is total trust.
“There is a strong relationship and it is very important.”
