Levante suffer Boateng blow

Levante have been dealt a blow before the new season with the news that striker Emmanuel Boateng will be out for four to six weeks.

The Ghanaian suffered an injury to his left knee in the friendly with Bournemouth last Friday and the club has confirmed that he underwent an operation in Valencia on Wednesday night, which has proved a success.

As a result, Boateng will not travel with the rest of the squad this Thursday for their mini-tour of Holland, where Levante will stay until August 5 and play four friendly matches.

The 22-year-old was signed from Portuguese outfit Moireirense in summer 2017 and has notched six goals in 25 league appearances.
