Argentinian forward Sergio Araujo has penned a five-year contract at recently-relegated Las Palmas, it has been confirmed.
The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at AEK Athens, helping the Greek club to their first league title in 24 years by netting 21 goals.
“I am very grateful to the club for betting on me,” Araujo told Las Palmas club media.
“I would like to return that confidence by contributing my full effort to try to promote the team to the division we were in when I left.
“This is a renewal that reflects how deeply rooted I feel on the island, which has given me not only the affection of thousands of fans, but also a beautiful daughter.”
Araujo will now be reunited with Coach Manolo Jimenez, who switched AEK for Las Palmas this summer.
