Lopez plays down Barca victory

Paco Lopez has played down his Levante side’s 5-4 victory over Barcelona at the weekend and says he is trying to keep his feet grounded.

The Valencia-based club became the first team to beat Ernesto Valverde’s men in the league this season in a thrilling encounter at the Ciutat de Valencia, but Lopez is refusing to get carried away.

“I’ve been in this profession for many years, especially in Segunda B, which is where I have spent most time, and I try to be very clear that we must live with normality,” said Lopez in declarations to EFE.

“You have to learn to live with both the good times and the bad times. The win against Barca was good and it doesn’t happen many times to us coaches, so we have to enjoy it.

“The important thing is the daily work and quality in the dressing room. Everyone has their own details, but I’ve been fortunate enough to have a very good group to whom I have applied some tactical and emotional nuances.

“But the main things, as I said, is the dressing room and that enables you to get good results,” he maintained.
