Eduardo Berizzo has emerged as the favourite to replace Jose Angel Ziganda as boss of Athletic Bilbao this summer.
Ziganda is widely expected to lose his job following a disappointing season by Bilbao’s standards, while Ligue 1 outfit Nice have now joined the queue of clubs interested in former Celta Vigo and Sevilla Coach Berizzo.
Teams from Chile, Brazil as well as the Ecuadorian national team are all understood to be chasing the 48-year-old, who left Sevilla last December after recovering from prostate cancer.
However, RMC Sport claims Nice are going to launch an offer for the Argentine’s services as they look to book a place in the Europa League.
Nonetheless, Athletic sporting director Jose Mari Amorortu is already believed to have made contact with Berizzo, who was his first choice 12 months ago before the club opted for Ziganda.
