Espanyol were booed off by their own fans following a dull goalless encounter at home to Alaves on Sunday afternoon.
It was a game where neither side created a clear-cut chance and where defences were very much in the ascendancy for the entire clash.
A win would have lifted the hosts further into mid-table but a lack of ambition from both sides ensured the spoils were shared.
Espanyol remain 13th in the standings with Alaves three places and four places further back, but the Basque club remain 11 points above the relegation zone.
