Raul ‘to become a Coach’

Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez has reportedly decided to become a Coach.

According to Marca, Raul will obtain his coaching licence when the next elite course run by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) takes place in April.

Once he receives it, the former Spain striker would be free to lead Madrid’s Juvenil B youth team.

The former Spain striker returned to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer in an advisory role, and the newspaper notes he has been following their youth ranks ‘very closely’.

Marca adds his appointment is part of a managerial shake-up at the club, with ex-Blanco forward Alvaro Benito set to move up to Juvenil A and Guti taking charge of the Castilla side if he does not receive an offer from a team in La Liga.

Raul scored 307 goals across a 15-year stay at the Bernabeu, where he won 16 major honours, including six Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.
