Barcelona teammates will try to help Andre Gomes overcome any personal problems, insists fellow midfielder Sergio Busquets.
Gomes, 24, admitted earlier this week he was struggling with off-field issues yet Busquets promised his Blaugrana teammates would do all they could to help him.
“It’s a very personal issue for Andre, so we did not know the full extent but we had some understanding,” Busquets told reporters on Tuesday.
“As his teammates, we will try to help him in the period and to give advice in how to manage it, to support him – this is important. We have done this and will continue to do so.”
The midfielder was also quizzed about Wednesday’s Champions League last 16 tie against Chelsea.
“It will be a tough match, they are the champions of England,” Busquets continued.
“They are a strong team, particularly in defence and while we know it will not be easy, we must try to be efficient with our chances.
“We will try to win the match outright even though a scoreless draw would be enough for us, you cannot sit back and wait in games like this.”
