Celta strike late to down Las Palmas

Pablo Hernandez netted a late winner for Celta Vigo as they came from behind to clinch a 2-1 home victory against La Liga strugglers Las Palmas.

Erik Exposito gave the visitors the lead in the second half but Celta struck back first through Jonny and then with the Chilean international’s late goal.

Exposito, in just his second league start, broke the deadlock eight minutes after half-time when he fired home a low angled drive from inside the penalty area.

Matias Aguirregaray spurned a glorious chance to double Paco Jemez’s side lead before Jonny equalised two minutes later as he slotted home a rebound.

Iago Aspas then provided the assist for Hernandez to fire home the winner to bring Celta up to 9th and keep Las Palmas in the relegation zone.
