Getafe’s Juan Cala set for China

Getafe defender Juan Cala is set to join Chinese Super League club Henan Jianye in a deal worth €1.5m, according to reports in Spain.

The 28-year-old has also enjoyed stints in Greece, Russia and England throughout his career but has been a central part of Los Azulones defence this season – starting 20 La Liga outings.

Cala’s nomadic career began at Sevilla and has also included loan spells at Cartagena and Granada, before joining the Madrid-based club in the summer of 2016.

The defender’s contract at Getafe was set to expire in the summer and the club gave their blessing for his departure according to numerous reports in Diario AS, Cadena Cope and others.
