Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has criticised his side’s clash with Eibar not being brought forward to a Friday night.
The Blaugrana ran out 2-0 victors over the 10-man Basque side but only have three days until their Champions League clash with Chelsea – who had an extra day’s rest.
“It would have been much better for us if this game had been played on Friday,” Busquets told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“Perhaps the TV schedule would not have allowed for that, I do not know.
“The sending-off of (Fabian) Orellana definitely benefited us in the game, but the whole way through the game they did not create many opportunities.
“It was a difficult match on the whole, their approach is tough to deal with but we got our game-plan right and it was good preparation for the Chelsea game.
“Chelsea are a tough opponent and will ensure we suffer a lot, but we enter the game with confidence.”
