Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has laughed off Sevilla having home advantage in the Copa del Rey final: “I love the club, but it should not be there.”
The Croatian moved to the Camp Nou from Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2014 and was on the scoresheet for Barca in their 2-0 second leg semi-final victory over Valencia on Thursday.
“I am a Sevilla fan and I love Seville, but the final should not be there,” Rakitic told reporters in the mixed zone on Thursday, as cited by ABC de Sevilla.
“I have heard what the Sevilla’s president said, but the league match in that stadium will suffice – perhaps the final should be played in the Camp Nou in that case?
“In all seriousness, we should find a suitable neutral location to suit us all but ultimately we are very happy to play in another final as this is a fantastic achievement.”
