Sevilla reach Copa del Rey final

Sevilla reached their second Copa del Rey final in three seasons and their 17th final in 12 years with victory over Leganes on Wednesday.

Goals from Joaquin Correa and Franco Vazquez were enough for Vincenzo Montella’s side, who had drawn the first leg 1-1 at Butarque.

Leganes – who had never previously advanced beyond the last 16 of the competition and had eliminated Real Madrid – played valiantly but did not create serious opportunities throughout the match.

Correa slotted home from close-range in the 15th-minute while Vazquez’s powerful finish from a tight angle sealed the win in the dying stages.

Los Rojiblancos will play either Valencia or Barcelona, who contest their second leg tonight, in the showpiece on 21 April.
